about
This song was written while watching the live news coverage of the 2015 Paris Massacre. I was holding onto and playing my classical guitar while we watched the events unfold. I started out with that opening figure and the song just unfolded, unspoken, as my response to what I was watching. It was powerfully cathartic for me and helped me make sense of the madness and sorrow I felt for of all those lives lost and those affected by the tragedy. No words - just music to express the pain of watching the city I love be torn apart, and the net loss to all our humanity that such acts perpetrate.
Song for Paris stands as my tribute to the fallen.
This Instrumental song features 2 acoustic guitars, 2 classical guitars, a bass guitar, and an electric lead, as well as a jazz kit from Toontrack. The guitars were all tracked live in studio.
